Honda Begins 9th Generation Accord Production In US

US spec Accord reveals some interesting leads

The 2013 Honda Accord has started rolling off the production plant at Marysville, Ohio and some interesting specs, which we supposed will make its way to Malaysia. First off is the engine. There’s 2.4 litre four cylinder, direct injection petrol engine which gets a new CVT transmission and a 3.5 V6, which will very unlikely be making its way here due to road tax structure. Secondly are the features available in the Accord, e.g. LaneWatch (blid spot display), Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, rear view camera, Expanded View Driver’s Mirror, Bluetooth, Multi Information Display with SMS test messaging function. Press release for Honda Ohio is after the jump!

Are You Our Next Honda Accord?

We quite like the front, but the rear, well, it is reminiscent of a certain competitor…

First, a caveat. The pictures and press release are on the US Accord, but, historically speaking, we always get the bigger version of the Accord (which shares similar designs as the US Accord) in Malaysia. This is the 9th generation Honda Accord. The front looks sleeker, accentuated by bold grille. We like the  strong character line starting from the front fender before disappearing near the C-pillar. From the rear however, we think that it is too “in your face” type of look. Perhaps, a more sophisticated look like the Kia Optima K5 would bring a more exciting rear. Picture of the rear view is after the jump.
