BMW Recalls : E60 5 Series and E63/64 6 Series

Cars manufactured in between 2003 until 2010 are part of recall program

BMW AG is recalling all BMW 5 and 6 series models (E60 and E63/64 respectively), that were built between 2003 and 2010, for repair at authorised dealers. The battery cable cover inside the boot may be incorrectly mounted and may lead to an electrical system malfunctioning, the vehicle failing to start or in some cases, to charring or fire. However, BMW is not aware of any accidents or injury, resulting from this fault. Owners will be notified in writing. Affected vehicles will remain at workshops for about 30 minutes, for changing of the cable cover. Approximately 1.3 million vehicles are affected worldwide.
