Boon Siew Honda took the opportunity to launch two new bikes that they are officially bringing into Malaysia for 2012 during the exhibition tour of the MotoXpo KL 2012 in Tun Razak Hall, Putra World Trade Centre.
At the launch of the two bikes is the governor of Penang, Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Abdul Rahman bin Haji Abbas, who officiated the launch of the MotoXpo KL 2012, and Dato’ Syed Mohamad Aidid, President of the Motorcycle and Scooter Assemblers and Distributors Association of Malaysia (MASAAM). From Honda, Mr. Jeremy Loo (Director & Chief Administration Officer of Boon Siew Honda), Mr. Satoshi Okada (Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Boon Siew Honda), and Mohd Isa Bin Omar (Managing Director of ASAR Associates (M) Sdn. Bhd.) were there to unveil the two motorcycles.
The CBR1000RR, if you REALLY need a description, is Honda’s flagship 1-litre supersports-class bike. It is commonly referred by enthusiasts as the Honda Fireblade. A radical philosophical and styling change in 2008 resulted in the evolved version of the CBR1000RR you see here today; a more focused, powerful, and balanced two-wheeled warrior.
Pushing out around 150-horsepower in the 2012 version, the CBR1000RR is pretty fast for a litre-bike to veteran riders, and dangerously powerful for beginners. The amount of awards the Fireblade has won is ridiculous, so I’ll just leave Google to help you understand how awesome this bike is.
Apparently the 2012 iteration of the Fireblade’s most prominent feature is its new suspension setting, done by Showa, that eliminates the “dead zone” feeling between compression and rebound. This enables the Fireblade to gain the most of traction coming out of corners, and increasing overall handling characteristics.
Honda Gold Wing
Jokes aside, perhaps even more than Honda’s automotive sector, Honda’s bikes commonly set the world’s benchmarks for manufacturing awe-inspiring machines, providing breakthrough technology for the masses and constantly challenging norms.
The 2012 Gold Wing comes with all the bells and whistles one would expect from a bike, and more. The Gold Wing’s features includes, but may not be limited to, premium surround sound audio system, navigation system, electric reverse capability, heated grips and seat, an airbag (yup, apparently the industry’s first, since 2007), and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
