Porsche Is Working On Tri-turbo’s For New 911 Turbo

Gorgeous and Rich in History

While some car manufacturers are contented with a 2-turbocharger system, others have began to embark on a triple turbo system (henceforth termed tri-turbo). We saw BMW doing so to its M diesel engine and now Porsche is reported to be working on it for the next generation 991, 911 Turbo. The current 3.6 litre twin-turbocharged flat-six used in the 997 is good for 473 bhp and 620 Nm of torque. The tri-turbo will have 2 large turbos for outright powwar! while a smaller one will be utilized to cut boost lag at low rpm’s, improving power delivery linearity. We are also expecting its displacement to be lower as well.
