Lotus Evora Gets An Automatic Box
We at TCG love rowing gears for a more engaging drive, but we do admit that certain automatic boxes do it better, like VW’s DSG. There is also no denying that many people nowadays love convenience (or don’t know how to drive manual). So much so that Lotus is fitting an automatic box to its Evora, to broaden the appeal of the car. The 6-speed automatic is mechanically an Aisin (Toyota) unit, but fitted with Lotus’s electronics giving it features like rev-matching upon down shifting gears. Lotus’s test guru, Matt Becker, explains in detail what other features are available in the Evora S.
