Toyota GT-86 (FT-86) Revealed

Homage to AE-86

After months of teasing, Toyota has finally announced and revealed the FT-86 or now known as GT-86. However, the Japanese carmaker insisted that it is still a prototype and is scheduled for launch only in spring 2012. We think that the rear wheel drive 2+2 is 90% close to production level though. “The Toyota GT 86 has been conceived as an entirely driver-focused machine, designed to deliver the core qualities of the classic sports car experience,” Toyota says. “That means precise, instant response to the smallest throttle and steering inputs and the kind of performance that appeals to those for whom driving is a passion, not a necessity.” Specifications, video and picture gallery is after the jump.
